The charge ritual

Home after the ride. Port opens, connector finds the socket, a ring of light comes on. The street stays where it was. The car takes the night shift.

After the last pin

The driverless drop leaves me at the end of my block. I walk the last stretch with the night still in my ears. Garage or curb stall, same sequence: port opens, connector finds the socket, a ring of light comes on. I coil the cable the way I like to find it. Then I walk inside while the car takes the quiet hours.

That sequence is more persuasive than any brochure. I care less about peak kilowatts and more about whether Monday starts already topped off, and whether tonight still had room for dinner before the plug.

Home night vs the public stall

At home, overnight Level 2 is the weekday job when the wall install is done. Out in the city, public charge is a different micro-moment: patience in a short queue after a Drive day, sharing a stall, coiling the cable so the next person can reach it. The wait is just the wait. Manners are what I leave behind.

Listings that only say Level 2 are incomplete until I confirm the connector. Hotel pedestals are still often J1772. NACS cars may need a travel adapter on those sites. Stall prices and network membership fees stay with the host and the network. Learn and Kit keep the desk facts. Here I keep the click, the light, and the walk inside.

Same plug, different horizon

A Drive weekend and a Lease year both end many nights this way. Plug in. Walk into the house. The horizon changes. The ceremony does not. After a late ride across town, or after a day with borrowed keys, the stall is how elevated electric feels lived-in instead of announced.

When I want steps, I open Drive to plan a few days with keys, or follow a Lease home-stall Learn leaf if the wall install is next. Articles stay with the feeling and the street truth. The doors stay with the work.
