  1. This model switched plugs across years: recent = NACS (Supercharger fits directly), earlier = CCS (needs a NACS-to-CCS adapter there). Pick your model year on the car step.
  2. Start and pay the session in the Genesis app or the Tesla app (session start is not automatic on most non-Tesla rentals).
  3. Unplug around 80%. Idle fees can start a few minutes after charging finishes.

Electrify America and EVgo are solid backups; same stop-around-80% rule.

How to start and pay: The G80e switched plugs across model years: recent ones use the NACS plug (a Supercharger fits directly); earlier years are CCS (start at Electrify America · a Supercharger then needs a NACS-to-CCS adapter). Pick your model year above, or check the charge-port door before counting on a Supercharger. Start and pay sessions in the Genesis app or the Tesla app either way.

The carpool lane is not yours anymore on the freeway

Since Oct 2025, California's Clean Air Vehicle decal program has ended. A solo EV no longer gets the carpool lane or the I-10 / I-110 toll discount. Riding solo in the HOV lane now risks a ticket around $490. Only use it with the required passengers.
Dated: program ended Sept 30, 2025. A 2027 extension needs federal approval that has not landed. Applies in California only.

Hills teach regen on day one on hills

SF grades make the car slow hard when you lift off. That is normal and it feeds the pack back. Leave extra gap on wet grades, and do not panic when the estimated miles swing after a climb.

Bridges and parking stack faster than electricity on bridges and downtown

Bridge tolls, downtown garages, and airport returns often outrun kWh cost on a short rental. Budget tolls and parking as first-class costs. Use known Supercharger clusters instead of hunting street L2 you cannot open with a rental account.
Toll amounts change. Confirm FasTrak or plate pay for this car.

Move your car when it is done when charging finishes

The moment charging completes, an idle fee can start ($0.40 to $1.00 per minute), and a busy Supercharger adds a congestion fee. There is usually a 5 minute grace to unplug. This is exactly why we nudge you to stop at 80% and walk back before it finishes.
A real build fires this from a charge-complete signal or your typed-in percent.
Charging complete at 80%. Move within about 5 minutes to avoid a $0.40 to $1.00 per minute idle fee. Desk return is ask at pickup; idle is separate.
