How a first Waymo ride works

Open their app, confirm the pin, find the car, ride, tip if you want. ElevnEV shows the path; you finish in Waymo.

What ElevnEV shows

We show which metros actually serve riders, what the first ride feels like, and which app to open. You finish the hail in the Waymo app.

Facts on our Ride pages are checked by hand. The stamp on those pages is the research date for that check.

Before you leave the curb

Download the Waymo app, verify the phone number, and add a payment method while you still have Wi-Fi. Confirm the pickup pin is where you can legally stand.

The car will show on the map with a plate and a color. Match both before you open the door. If something feels off, cancel in the app and re-request.

During and after the ride

Seat belts on. The car handles the drive. Follow on-screen prompts if it needs you to close a door or clear a path.

When you arrive, check that you have your bag, then end the trip in the app. Tip is optional and lives in their flow.
