Waymo's FAQ says anyone can ride in Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Metro Phoenix, Miami, Nashville, Orlando, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco and Tampa.
In Las Vegas it is welcoming riders and asks you to download the app to be among the first. In Austin and Atlanta you ride Waymo through the Uber app instead. Service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The ride, in order
- Enter your destination.The app picks pickup and dropoff spots the car can reach, which can mean a short walk. It tells you when the walk is more than 3 minutes.
- When the car arrives, unlock it from the app.Tap Find my pickup if you cannot spot it.
- Bags go in the trunk.Open it from the app or with the button above the license plate.
- Buckle up and tap Start Ride.
- At the end, Pull ahead in the app or on the in-car screen moves the car to the next spot, up to a block, at no charge.
- Need help?Tap Support on the in-car screen, or open the Help tab in the app and choose Get help, then Call. Support answers 24/7.
How long it waitsThe car usually waits 5 minutes, less in a busy spot.The app counts down, and missing the car can mean a no-show fee.
Worth knowingThe price is set before you book and does not change if the car takes a different route.It can be higher at busy times, and airport fees and tolls can apply.

The rules that decide whether you can ride at all
Kids and car seatsWaymo: under 8 needs a car or booster seat you bring, in the back, and cannot sit in front.Under 18 rides with an adult unless they have a Waymo teen account, offered in Metro Phoenix and Nashville (Waymo's FAQ gives ages 14 to 17), and teens may bring up to 3 friends who are 13 or older. Tesla: in a Model Y, 8 to 17 with an adult; in a Cybercab, 13 to 17 with an adult. Zoox: 8 and up, and the person booking must be 18 or older.
How many of youWaymo: up to 4 riders, or 3 in the rare case a specialist is aboard.Zoox: up to 4. Avride on Uber: up to 3, all in the back. Tesla's support page does not state a number. A bigger group means two rides.
AnimalsService animals ride with every operator here.Pets do not. Zoox also turns away emotional support animals.
BagsWaymo: use the trunk, opened from the app or the button above the license plate.Zoox: luggage goes on the floor, room for at least one piece per rider, no higher than 28 inches. Avride on Uber: Uber says the cars have ample trunk space. Tesla's support page does not describe luggage.
Left something behindWaymo keeps items for 7 days and does not keep bottles, smoking items, umbrellas or food.Report it through the app or Waymo's Contact Us form. Tesla keeps items for 10 days; report it in the app. Zoox has a lost item form on its support page. None of them promise an item will be returned.

SAT · San AntonioTerminals A and B, curbside at Departures for both pickups and dropoffs, and also the Arrivals outer curb near Rideshare Zone 2.
SFO · San FranciscoNot the terminal curb.Take the AirTrain to the Rental Car Center (about 15 minutes) or the Grand Hyatt at SFO (about 10 minutes, near valet).
SJC · San José MinetaTerminal A pickups at Stop 9.Terminal B pickups outside the Rental Car Center. Dropoffs are curbside at Departures.
