The ride, in order

1. 1Open the Uber app and request UberX, Uber Comfort, or Uber Comfort Electric inside the live Dallas map.
2. 2If Uber matches you with an Avride Ioniq 5, you get a notification.Accept it, or switch to a human-driven ride.
3. 3When it arrives, check the car against the app.It is an Ioniq 5 with a person in the driver's seat, not a purpose-built pod.
4. 4Sit in a passenger seat.The specialist's seat is theirs.
5. 5Ride as a normal Uber trip.Need out early? Use the Uber app the way you would on any other ride.

Also on the road, not hailable. Waymo has tested in Seattle since September 2025 with safety drivers aboard and no published timetable for public rides. A test car with a driver is further from service than an employee-only driverless fleet, so expect the other testing metros to open first.
